Random Dance Party

Posted by Kelly Madsen

Curiosity and the urge to get our groove on overcame charlotte, megan and me when we decided to crash the dance party of a group of people we spotted south of campus, yet none of us knew. I jumped in the middle of a circle and just went crazy! It was quite possibly the most liberating thing I've ever done. The guys in the group loved it and totally asked us to come back for their halloween dance. We said we would...without the intention of ever returning.

A Fresco with a Curious History

A rather monotone Medieval Art and Architecture lecture by Art History department head Mark Johnson a couple of weeks ago became quite curious when the discourse turned to the crucifixion fresco from the church of S. Maria Antiqua. Apparently the long purple robe Christ is shown wearing caused many early Christians to confuse the suffering Savior for a martyred, bearded, female saint. This "saint" became widely known as the patron saint of all bearded women. So ladies, if you find your cheeks a little scruffy take hope 'cause there just might be a saint out there to help you with it :).

A Curious Allergic Reaction To Exercise...

I have discovered that me and thousands of other people around the world are quite literally allergic to exercise. A few weeks ago I went running with my friend Megan and after pushing myself for a good hard run at the SFH track I stepped outside and sneezed. As I headed back to my car I counted 15 sneezes in 10 minutes! My eyes were watering and tears were rolling down my cheeks. Tears were rolling down Megan's cheeks too 'cause she was laughing so dang hard. I just couldn't seem to get the infernal tickling in my nose to go away. Sneeze after sneeze went on with slight decreasing frequency for a couple of hours. My nose would not stop running all night and into part of the next day. This was the second post-run sneezing attack I'd experienced. Luckily after some intense googling I found that I was most definitely not the only weirdo out there with this same freak occurrence. Check this out:
The Severe Post-Run Sneezles
If these attacks continue, I may have to stop training for that Tiffany's half marathon, and abandon the hope of maintaining my girlish figure.

Curiosity Has Yet To Kill Me

Well, I have finally yielded to the demands of blogging friends and family and have decided to begin my own adventure in blogging. A dear fried of mine once introduced me to the wonderful world of random notebook keeping. Since that very moment, I have faithfully carried around a little notebook to pen down all of the creative ideas, fabulous quotations, and sketches of runway worthy designs that surf my brainwaves. Through this blog I hope to share with you the curiosities of the world I encounter each day. So here it is folks, the world seen through the eyes of a 23 yr. old with rather quirky taste.
